Guwahati: One person was killed in a road accident in Guwahati’s Sarusajai on Tuesday night.
According to reports, one person was killed and another got injured when a truck collided with a biker.
The deceased was named Runu Das of Mathgharia in the Noonmati region of Guwahati, who was apparently on a paid trip at the time of the incident.
When a vehicle apparently traveling from Khanapara to Lokhra in the city collided with the two of them in the Sarusajai area of Guwahati, Assam.
The woman died on the spot, while the biker suffered serious injuries.
The two were allegedly carried for nearly a kilometer after being hit.
On the other side, the truck driver, Rafiqul Islam, was seized by Garchuk police.
The injured rider was transferred to Guwahati Medical College and Hospital, according to officials (GMCH).
It may be mentioned that the truck driver along with a handyman arrested by the police and further investigation into the matter is underway.
