One Killed, Two Injured in Landslide at Maharashtra’s Palghar

Guwahati: One person died and two others were critically injured in the landslide occurrence in the Vasai area of Palghar district in Maharashtra.

Numerous homes have been damaged, and some individuals may be trapped, according to a Times Now report.

According to the Palghar Collector, two individuals have already been saved.

Heavy rains have been falling in Maharashtra for the previous few days. Numerous rivers in the state are flowing at warning levels as a result of the constant rain. The Kundalika River, which flows out of Bhira, has gone above the alert line. Nashik’s temples were flooded by the Godavari River on Monday.

The IMD issued a very heavy rain warning on Tuesday for the districts of Kolhapur, Palghar, Nashik, Pune, and Ratnagiri until July 14. For the following three days, Mumbai is under orange alert from the weather office.

According to data released on Sunday by the Maharashtra State Disaster Management Department, 76 persons perished overall in ten days (from July 1 to 10) and up to 839 homes suffered damage as a result of rain-related accidents. The department established 35 assistance camps and relocated about 5,000 individuals to safer areas.
