Kokrajhar: In yet another police encounter one more criminal who is accused of trafficking ganja injured in Assam’s Kokrajhar district.
The accused was shot by the police officials when he allegedly tried to snatch police service weapon and flee from police custody on Thursday.
According to officials, on Wednesday night, police conducted a search operation for the consignments in an area under the Bishmuri outpost, and as a consequence, they discovered ganja and arrested the accused.
Before telling him to stop, the team’s commanding officer fired one round into the air.
As he refused to halt, another round was fired, and the bullet struck his leg, reports claimed.
It may be mentioned that the accused has been admitted Kokrajhar Civil Hospital for further treatment.
