Guwahati: A car struck the front gate of the 10th battalion of the Assam Police and overturned in the Kahilipara area of Guwahati on Monday.
According to reports, the vehicle smashed into the gate as it was approaching at a high rate of speed and overturned.
According to witnesses, the collision was caused by a fast four-wheeler that was travelling toward Kahilipara from the direction of the Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) and had evidently lost control.
The vehicle has been recognised as a Hyundai i20 with the licence plates AS 01 EM 0848.
According to reports, the vehicle slammed through the gate, uprooted it, and drove through to the police academy before turning around owing to the intensity of the impact.
However, despite the intensity of the collision, the car’s driver only suffered minor injuries, for which he is currently receiving treatment.
