Owaisi’s ‘Handsome’ Jibe at Pakistan Sparks Social Media Frenzy
National: Asaduddin Owaisi, the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief, ignited a flurry of reactions with a playful yet pointed remark directed at Pakistan. “Pakistanis have not seen anyone else so outspoken or handsome.
They only see me in India,” he quipped during a recent public address, triggering a wave of online commentary. The Hyderabad MP’s comment, seen by many as a sardonic response to his frequent mentions in Pakistani media, was met with a mix of amusement and political scrutiny.
Owaisi further asserted, “They should keep listening to me; their knowledge will increase, and their ignorance will disappear,” adding fuel to the social media firestorm.
Beyond the lighthearted banter, Owaisi addressed pressing geopolitical concerns, particularly regarding Indo-Pakistani relations and US involvement. He criticized the US-brokered ceasefire, arguing that the Indian Prime Minister should have taken the lead. “I have said it before, I will say it again—our Prime Minister should have announced the ceasefire, not the US President. Do you know that Pakistan’s trade with the US is worth only $10 billion, whereas for India it is over $150 billion. Is it a joke?” he questioned. Owaisi also voiced strong reservations about any potential trade with Pakistan, labeling them “beggars” and demanding that the US designate
The Resistance Front (TRF), an alleged offshoot of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), as a terrorist organization. He underscored the persistent threat of Pakistani-sponsored terrorism, asking, “Can America guarantee that Pakistan will not carry out terror attacks on us anymore? Pakistan’s military will always mess with India. How long will we tolerate this?” His dual-pronged approach, blending humor with serious political commentary, has once again placed him at the center of national discourse.
