P. Chidambaram to Head Manifesto Committee for 2024 Lok Sabha Polls; Gaurav Gogoi Included

National Desk, 23rd December: In preparation for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the Congress party has taken a significant stride by establishing its Manifesto Committee. P. Chidambaram, a seasoned politician and former Union minister, will chair the committee, with TS Singh Deo, Deputy Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, serving as the Convenor. This strategic decision, announced on December 23, is part of the party’s initiative to delineate its agenda for the upcoming general elections.

The 16-member panel boasts notable figures, including Gaurav Gogoi, the party’s deputy leader in the Lok Sabha, emphasizing the party’s commitment to incorporating diverse voices and experiences in shaping its electoral promises. The committee’s formation follows a pivotal meeting of the Congress Working Committee (CWC), where discussions revolved around election strategies and the timely announcement of candidates.

Reflecting a blend of experience and youth, the committee includes prominent figures like Ramesh, Shashi Tharoor, and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, all contributing to the development of the manifesto. This move by the Congress party signals its preparedness to present a robust challenge in the upcoming elections, focusing on policy and governance issues that resonate with the electorate. Once finalized, the manifesto will articulate the party’s vision and commitments to the people of India as they head to the polls in 2024.
