Pakistan: 17 Dead & Several Injured in Explosion at Mosque in Peshawar
Guwahati: At least 17 people were killed and over 90 were severely injured after an explosion at a mosque in Peshawar of Pakistan on Monday.
The explosion occurred at around 1.40 pm after the Zuhr prayers at the mosque in Peshawar’s Police Lines area.
The blast’s effects caused one of the mosque’s sides to collapse.
Security officials claim that the suicide bomber was in the front row during the prayers when he detonated himself, injuring numerous persons who were praying.
Citing hospital sources, a Geo News report said that 13 of the injured are in a critical condition.
The injured people are being sent to the hospital, said a Lady Reading Hospital (LRC) official in Peshawar.
Meanwhile, an emergency has been imposed in the locality and the area has been cordoned off.
