Pakistan & Afghanistan Fans Clash After Asia Cup Match, Vandalize Stadium

Guwahati: Clashes were reported between Pakistan and Afghanistan fans following the Pakistan’s defeat in the 2022 Asia Cup held in Sharjah of UAE.

Afghanistan and Pakistan on Wednesday played in a cricket match for the Asia Cup 2022, and Afghanistan lost in the last over to be eliminated from the competition.

Angry and dissatisfied spectators reportedly trashed the stadium, flung chairs at Pakistani spectators, and engaged in sporadic fistfights outside the stadium’s boundaries.

A fraction of Afghanistan supporters was seen in social media videos hurling stadium chairs at Pakistan supporters.

Both teams played the game in good spirits, but things became tense when Pakistan batsman Asif Ali and Afghanistan fast bowler Fareed Ahmed got into a physical altercation.

Before things got out of hand, the players were separated, and the game ended with a thrilling victory for Pakistan and no additional interruptions.

India loses its chance to play in the Asia Cup finals as a result of Pakistan’s victory over Afghanistan.

India and Afghanistan are both eliminated from the tournament after losing their first two games.

On September 6, India suffered a six-wicket defeat to Sri Lanka.
