Road Accident at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Pakistan, 30 Dead & 15 Injured
Guwahati: As many as 30 people were dead and 15 others were injured after a passenger bus and a car collided and fell into a deep gorge in the Kohistan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Pakistan on Tuesday.
According to reports, the head-on collision occurred in the Shitial region of the province as the passenger bus was travelling from Gilgit to Rawalpindi.
Police and rescue personnel arrived on the scene quickly and sent the dead and injured to the RHC Hospital. According to police, said the rescuers are facing problems in carrying out relief activities due to darkness at the accident area.
The chief minister of Gilgit Baltistan Khalid Khurshid gave orders to the government and all pertinent divisions to evacuate the injured from the scene and give them with the best medical care available.
In order to better coordinate and keep track of emergency response the chief minister also issued instructions for the creation of a special control room.
The prime minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed sorrow over the accident’s fatalities. According to Pakistan’s state-run radio, he expressed his sympathies to the grieving families and prayed for the victims.
He gave the appropriate authorities instructions to make all appropriate medical facilities available to the injured.
Reportedly, President Arif Alvi expressed his sorrow over the unfortunate incident’s fatalities and sympathy for the bereaved families.
