Panjab Polls: AAP names Bhagwant Mann as CM candidate

Guwahati: Aam Aadmi Party has announced Bhagwant Mann’s name for the chief ministerial candidate in Punjab.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has made this announcement today. Announcing the name of Bhagwant Mann, Arvind Kejriwal said that we have chosen the face of CM on the basis of the opinion of the people of Punjab. He said, “If I had declared Bhagwant Mann as the CM candidate on my behalf, people would have said that Arvind Kejriwal has done nepotism. That’s why we issued a phone number last week so that the opinion of three crore people of Punjab can be taken.”

AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal said that the number issued by the party has received a response from more than 21 lakh 59 thousand people. All the surveys and the atmosphere are telling that the Aam Aadmi Party government is going to be formed in the state. In such a situation, the face of the CM who will be declared now, will in a way be the next Chief Minister of the state.  Kejriwal further said that many people also put his name but the party has rejected these votes. After this, the remaining 93 percent of people have taken the name of Sardar Bhagwant Singh.

Not only this, but the AAP leader also took a jibe at the Congress during this period. He said that out of the opinions given by the people to AAP, only 3 percent of people have given Navjot Singh Sidhu their choice as CM. The Aam Aadmi Party has done the work of bringing the Congress on the back foot by announcing the CM face in Punjab, which is still in a state of dilemma. In fact, a faction wants to retain CM Channi in the future, while Navjot Singh Sidhu is also claiming on his behalf.

In such a situation, to avoid any controversy before the election, Congress has said to fight only under collective leadership. But now the Congress can come under pressure after announcing the name of the CM on behalf of AAP.
