Passengers Response to Guwahati-New Jalpaiguri Vande Bharat Express
Guwahati, 11 June: The high speed Vande Bharat Express train service is running from Guwahati to New Jalpaiguri. But a section of commuters are facing problems due to the movement time and ticket prices of the train service. Due to the high ticket prices and the inaccessibility of time, passengers do not have a good response to the fast-paced Vande Bharat Express controlled by the cold and heat.
Most of the 512 seats in the train every day are found vacant due to lack of passengers. The ‘Vande Bharat Express’ service started between Guwahati-New Jalpaiguri on May 29, but many passengers had to retreat after seeing the fare of the train. The normal fare for a passenger on the Vande Bharat Express in Guwahati-New Bongaigaon is Rs 600.
Similarly, the fare for Guwahati-Kokrajhar is Rs 640, Guwahati-New Bihar is Rs 1000, Guwahati-New Jalpaiguri is Rs 1225. On the other hand, the fare from New Jalpaiguri to Guwahati is Rs 1075. The fare from New Jalpaiguri to Bongaigaon is Rs. 835 while the fare from New Jalpaiguri to Kokrajhar is Rs. 780.
Also the special category fare is twice the price of share tickets. In the special category, the fare between Guwahati-New Jalpaiguri is Rs 2200.
Meanwhile passengers are in trouble due to the train’s schedule. The train from Guwahati leaves at 4pm and reaches New Jalpaiguri at 10pm. Similarly, the train coming from New Jalpaiguri at 6-10 a.m. reaches Guwahati at 11-40 a.m.
