Guwahati: The Officer-in-Charge of Patacharkuchi Police Station in Bajali district of Assam has been sent to reserved closed on Tuesday.
The OC have been identified as Hrishikesh Das.
According to reports, Das was immediately transferred to reserve status and the penalty was handed after a CRPF jawan died under unexplained circumstances.
Reports claim that the jawan’s family reported his suicide to the police after stating that it was caused by love-related problems.
Following the complaint, OC Das detained Mridul Dutta, a home instructor, in connection with the crime on the basis of a possible love interest.
Mridul Dutta has alleged that OC beat him at the police station and filed a complaint against him.
Following Mridul’s accusations, the OC escorted him to the Pathsala Government Health Center at 12:35 on Tuesday for a medical checkup; the physicians found no signs of injury.
Hrishikesh Das was charged with attacking him at the police station after injuries were discovered on his body earlier today.
The OC was conducting an investigation to resolve the jawan’s death’s mystery.
The jawan’s wife, Nivedita Kalita, was detained in connection with the death and her phone was taken during the investigation.
Though, the reserve close is not made official yet however, the notice is making round in messaging groups.
