Patel Engineering Secures Rs 240 Crore Contract for Hydropower Project in Sikkim

Northeast Desk, 21st September: Patel Engineering announced that it has secured a contract worth Rs 240 crore from NHPC Ltd for a hydropower project in Sikkim. The project involves the modification of a diversion tunnel into a tunnel spillway arrangement, along with civil and hydro-mechanical works for Package 6 of the Teesta-V Power Station.

The order is expected to be completed within 18 months, according to Patel Engineering’s filing with the stock exchange.

Patel Engineering has established a strong presence in infrastructure projects, particularly in irrigation, tunnels, and hydroelectric dams. The company has a robust portfolio, having completed over 85 dams, 40 hydroelectric projects, and 300 km of tunnelling, showcasing its expertise in the field.
