‘Pathaan’ crosses Rs 400 crore mark in 4 days

Guwahati: The production company Yash Raj Films (YRF) reported on January 29 that superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s “Pathaan” extended its record-breaking streak at the box office by earning Rs 429 crore total globally in four days.

The action-packed spy thriller earned Rs 53.25 crore nett in India (Hindi, all dubbed versions), bringing the domestic box office total to Rs 64 crore, according to YRF. “Pathaan” was also made available in Tamil and Telugu on January 25.

“‘Pathaan hit another 100 crore+ day on its 4th day, as it registered Rs 53.25 crore nett in India (Hindi, all dubbed versions), taking the India gross to Rs 64 crore.  “The overseas gross on day 4 is at Rs 52 crore, taking the total collection on its fourth day of release to Rs 116 crore gross,” the studio said in a press note.

Shah Rukh’s first major motion picture release in over four years, “Pathaan,” debuted with a worldwide gross of Rs. 106 crore. On days two and three, it earned Rs. 113.6 crore and Rs. 90 crore, respectively.

The movie, which was directed by Siddharth Anand, centres on the titular spy (Shah Rukh), who emerges from exile to prevent the terrorist organisation Outfit X, headed by Jim (John Abraham), from attacking India and causing significant damage. Deepika Padukone is also a part of it.

“Pathaan” is the fourth film in the grandiose spy universe created by producer Aditya Chopra, following Salman Khan’s “Ek Tha Tiger” (2012), “Tiger Zinda Hai” (2017), and “War,” which starred Hrithik Roshan (2019). Salman makes a cameo as fellow spy Tiger in the film, which, according to YRF, has broken over 21 box office records.
