Guwahati: Pawan Hans Limited (PHL) will begin offering helicopter services along six routes in Assam on Wednesday (February 8). PHL has been given 86 routes throughout six states under the RCS UDAN scheme.
PHL is starting its RCS UDAN services in the first phase to offer connectivity on the “Dibrugarh-Jorhat-Tezpur Guwahati-Tezpur-Jorhat-Dibrugarh” network. The services will then be put into operation throughout the State of Arunachal Pradesh.
A special emphasis is being placed by the RCS UDAN of the Ministry of Civil Aviation on establishing air connection to the isolated regions of the northeastern states that lack appropriate rail and road connectivity.
According to the Ministry, putting these roads into action will make it easier for locals to get around and enhance trade and tourism.
