Guwahati: In a suspected hit-and-run case, a pedestrian was killed on the spot after being hit by a speeding vehicle in Guwahati city of Assam on Saturday.
The incident took place in the Khanapara area of the city.
According to reports, the person was hit by a speeding vehicle from behind.
Reportedly, the vehicle’s driver could not be trapped as he drove away his car after hitting the man.
The identity of the deceased person is yet to be ascertained.
After being informed about the incident in the afternoon, the city police arrived at the spot and take stoke of the situation.
Reports further claimed that the body has been taken to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for post-mortem report.
It should be noted that there has been an increase in hit-and-run accidents in Guwahati and other areas of the state.
