Guwahati: In a shocking incident that unfolded on Friday morning near Aurus Mall on GS Road, alert locals nabbed a man identified as Ziarul, who was allegedly caught red-handed harassing a nurse. The man reportedly exposed himself in a vulgar manner to the woman, prompting her cries for help that quickly drew a crowd.
The incident, which took place around 7 AM, saw the nurse’s distress trigger immediate public action. Eyewitnesses claimed Ziarul had previously engaged in similar lewd acts but had always managed to escape. This time, however, his luck ran out. Locals swiftly apprehended him, tying him to a pole as they waited for the police to arrive.
Despite repeated attempts to contact law enforcement, the police response was reportedly delayed by over 45 minutes. During this period, the agitated crowd took matters into their own hands, administering a thrashing to the alleged pervert before eventually letting him go. This incident has sparked considerable concern among residents regarding public safety and the apparent lack of prompt police intervention in such grave matters.
