Phulera Calling Again: Panchayat Season 4 Set for June 24 Premiere
Entertainment: Get ready for another dose of rustic charm and administrative antics as Prime Video officially announced that the highly anticipated fourth season of “Panchayat” will make its global debut on June 24. The news, which broke on June 11, has set the stage for the return of everyone’s favourite engineering graduate-turned-village secretary, Abhishek Tripathi, and the colourful cast of characters that populate the fictional Uttar Pradesh village of Phulera.
The beloved ensemble cast, including Jitendra Kumar as Abhishek, Neena Gupta as Manju Devi, Raghubir Yadav as Pradhan Ji, Faisal Malik as Prahlad, Chandan Roy as Vikas, and Sanvikaa as Rinki, are all set to reprise their roles. Fans can expect the signature blend of humour, warmth, and nuanced storytelling that has made “Panchayat” a runaway success since its inception.
Created by Deepak Kumar Mishra and Chandan Kumar, the series continues to explore the trials and tribulations of Abhishek Tripathi, who, due to limited job prospects, finds himself navigating the unique challenges of a panchayat office in rural India. The streamer’s press release promises “fresh challenges, familiar faces, and plenty of comic twists,” ensuring the new season will once again capture the authentic rhythms of small-town life.
Adding to the excitement, Prime Video also unveiled the trailer for the upcoming season, offering a tantalising glimpse into a brewing turf war that threatens to turn Phulera into a buzzing battleground. The spotlight is firmly on the spirited rivalry between two formidable frontrunners: Manju Devi, portrayed by Neena Gupta, and Kranti Devi, played by Sunita Rajwar. The official logline paints a vivid picture of the impending chaos, describing “rally songs, lofty pledges, and lots of fanfare,” as the village transforms into a “carnival of chaos” with both camps striving to outshine and out-scheme each other.
Chandan Kumar, co-creator of the series, shared his insights on the writing process, calling it a “journey of deep discovery and gratitude.” He emphasised the organic unfolding of each season, building naturally on its predecessor while leaving room for the narrative to evolve. Kumar reiterated their commitment to keeping the story fresh by introducing new characters and dynamics while maintaining the emotional core of Phulera.
Neena Gupta expressed her profound satisfaction in portraying Manju Devi, a character that has resonated deeply with audiences. She highlighted Manju Devi’s evolution from a hesitant pradhan to a confident voice in Phulera’s affairs, noting how each season adds depth to both village life and individual character arcs. Gupta hinted at “unexpected twists” in the fourth season, promising an even more compelling narrative for viewers.
