Entertainment: Bollywood’s beloved slice-of-life film Piku, starring Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and the late Irrfan Khan, is set to re-release in theatres on May 9, 2025, to mark its 10th anniversary.
Directed by Shoojit Sircar, the film originally hit theatres on May 8, 2015, and was both a critical and commercial success, grossing over Rs 140 crore worldwide. Piku explored the tender yet humorous relationship between a hypochondriac father and his independent daughter.
Deepika Padukone announced the re-release with a heartfelt video on Instagram, saying, “A film that will always have my heart – ‘PIKU’ is back in theatres on 9th May, 2025 to celebrate its 10th Anniversary! Irrfan, we miss you! And think about you every so often.”
The re-release is expected to bring nostalgic joy to fans while paying tribute to Irrfan Khan, whose performance remains etched in audience memory.
