Guwahati: Sensation prevailed in Silchar’s Inter State Bus Terminus after the handyman of a bus recovered two bags containing pistols and live cartridges.
The handyman usually performs a routine check after passengers leave the bus to look out for any valuables or bags that may have been inadvertently left behind by passengers. The handyman found two bags from beneath seats 25 and 26 during the routine check.
The handyman found two 0.2 handguns and several live rounds of ammunition when he opened the bags. The weapons and ammunition were recovered from the bus coming from Dharmanagar.
Police in Tarapur seized the suspicious suitcases’ bags.
No arrest has been made into the case so far.
It needs to be mentioned that the officials are investigation into the matter.
