PM: Grand statue’ of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose to be installed at India Gate
Guwahati: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday has announced that a huge granite statue in honour of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose will be built at India Gate on the 125th anniversary of his birth.
Sharing the news on Twitter, PM Modi wrote, “At a time when the entire nation is marking the 125th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, I am glad to share that his grand statue, made of granite, will be installed at India Gate. This would be a symbol of India’s indebtedness to him.”

He further claimed that a hologram of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose will be present at the same location until the monument is constructed.
Modi further tweeted, “Till the grand statue of Netaji Bose is completed, a hologram statue of his would be present at the same place. I will unveil the hologram statue on 23rd January, Netaji’s birth anniversary.”

The statue will be unveiled on January 23, the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma welcoming the decision of PM Modi wrote on Twitter, “I wholeheartedly welcome Adarniya PM Shri @narendramodi ji’s decision to install Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s grand statue at India Gate. One of the tallest figures of India’s Freedom Movement, this will be a fitting tribute to Netaji’s rich legacy of courage and sacrifice.”

It may be mentioned that India is regaining its history as the Canopy had housed a statue of Kind George 5th, which was destroyed in 1968.
