PM Inaugurates Golden Jubilee Celebrations of Agradoot Newspaper Group

Guwahati: Assam daily publisher Agradoot’s Golden Jubilee celebrations were officially launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi via video conference on Wednesday.

The event was conducted in the Srimanta Sankaradev Kalakshetra in Guwahati, and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma who serves as the committee’s primary sponsor attended as well.

Speaking to the crowd, Prime Minister Modi praised Dainik Agradoot for being a “strong voice of the Northeast in the Assamese language” and for preserving the ideals of peace and harmony via journalism.

The Indian language press has made a significant contribution to Indian tradition, culture, the struggle for independence, and the country’s progress, according to the prime minister.

According to him, Assam had a significant impact on the growth of language journalism in India because the state had a thriving media scene. Assamese-language journalism first emerged 150 years ago and has grown steadily since then.

He also remembered that the newspaper’s history over the past 50 years tells the tale of the changes that have occurred in Assam.

“This transition has been made possible in large part due to movements by the populace. The Assamese pride and cultural legacy of Assam were maintained through popular movements. And right now, Assam is using public input to write a brand-new development tale, he said.

He added, “There is a solution when there is conversation. Conversations open up new opportunities. As a result, in the democracy of India, information likewise flows continuously along with knowledge. A part of such tradition is agradoot.

The Prime Minister emphasised the biological and cultural diversity of Assam and the Northeast, saying that Assam has a rich musical heritage and that it needs to be heard throughout the world. According to him, the region’s efforts over the past eight years to improve physical and digital connectivity would have a significant positive impact on Assamese tribal traditions, tourism, and culture.

Modi said that the good contribution performed by our media in initiatives like the Swachh Bharat Mission is still recognised throughout the nation and the world.
