PM Modi carries out mega roadshow ahead of airport; Inaugurates Ayodhya International Airport and Modernized Railway Station
National Desk, 30th December: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Ayodhya on December 30 to launch the newly constructed Ayodhya International Airport and Maharishi Valmiki Railway Station. Before the inauguration, PM Modi initiated a grand roadshow, greeting the enthusiastic crowd gathered for the ceremony. The highlight of the visit was the inauguration of the Maharishi Valmiki International Airport Ayodhya Dham, a state-of-the-art facility developed at a cost of ₹1,450 crore. With the capacity to handle up to 10 lakh passengers annually, the airport boasts modern amenities and architectural elements reflecting the grandeur of the upcoming Ram Mandir.
Additionally, PM Modi inaugurated the revamped Ayodhya Dham Railway Station, a ₹240 crore project designed to enhance the travel experience for pilgrims and tourists. The station now features modern facilities such as lifts, escalators, food plazas, and waiting halls. The Prime Minister also flagged off new Amrit Bharat and Vande Bharat trains, emphasizing improved connectivity and comfort for travelers. These trains utilize semi-coupler technology for a smoother journey at speeds of up to 130 km/h.
PM Modi laid the foundation stones for various development projects exceeding ₹15,000 crore, including railway line doubling, major road construction, and initiatives aimed at overall development in Ayodhya and its surroundings. The public rally following the inauguration ceremonies drew a massive crowd, emphasizing the significance of these projects for the region. Scheduled ahead of the Ram Temple consecration on January 22, 2024, PM Modi’s visit strategically bolsters the city’s infrastructure, aiming to boost tourism, create business opportunities, and generate employment for the economic growth of Uttar Pradesh and the nation.
