PM Modi Hails Assam’s Progress, Sets Vision for $150 Billion Economy

Guwahati: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking at the Advantage Assam 2.0 Investment and Infrastructure Summit in Guwahati, highlighted the remarkable development strides made in Assam over the past decade.

He emphasized that the state has moved towards greater stability and prosperity, citing the resolution of long-standing border disputes and the signing of multiple peace accords as key milestones in fostering peace and progress in the region.

Acknowledging the relentless efforts of Assam’s citizens, particularly its youth, Modi credited them for driving economic and infrastructural transformation. He reiterated the government’s commitment to enhancing the ease of doing business, ensuring that Assam becomes a hub for industry and innovation through a well-established ecosystem supporting investment and enterprise.

Highlighting the government’s massive national infrastructure investments, the Prime Minister stressed the synergy between institutional reforms, industrial expansion, infrastructure development, and innovation as critical factors propelling India’s growth. He commended Assam’s ambitious goal of achieving a $150 billion economy by 2030, expressing confidence in the state’s potential to meet this target. Modi attributed this optimism to Assam’s talent, resilience, and the transformative policies being implemented, signaling a new era of economic acceleration for the region.
