PM Modi In Mann Ki Baat: India 5th Largest Economy In World In 2022

Guwahati: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that India had become the world’s fifth-largest economy at the final Mann Ki Baat of 2022 on Sunday.

“The year 2022 was wonderful, India completed 75 years of Independence while ‘Amrit Kaal’ began. India progressed rapidly and became the world’s fifth-largest economy, and achieved the unbelievable record of 220 crore vaccines and crossed the USD 400 billion mark in exports,” PM Modi said in the 96th edition of Mann Ki Baat, a monthly radio programme of the Prime Minister.

He also praised the government’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative and the launch of INS Vikrant.

During the “Amritkaal” of India’s 75 years of independence, the commissioning of the nation’s first indigenous aircraft carrier is a significant event that demonstrates the nation’s confidence and prowess.

This homegrown aircraft carrier is evidence of the nation’s technical know-how and engineering prowess. The nation’s defence indigenization programmes and the “Make in India” campaign will be strengthened by this proof of India’s ability to manufacture an aircraft carrier warship.

The fourth and last phase of INS Vikrant’s sea trials, which cost almost Rs 20,000 crore, were completed successfully last month. With the construction of “Vikrant,” India has joined a small group of countries with the specialised capacity to design and construct an aircraft carrier domestically.

The ship contains more than 2,300 compartments, including specialised rooms for female officers, and it is built for a crew of about 1,700 people.

The INS Vikrant can travel for around 7,500 nautical miles at a time and has a top speed of about 28 knots. The aircraft carrier is 59 metres tall, 62 metres wide, and 262 metres long. 2009 saw the laying of its keel.

He emphasised the nation’s duty for hosting the G20 meeting this year in further remarks.

“This year, India has also got the prestigious responsibility of chairing the G20 group. I had also discussed this in detail last time,” he said.

The G20 is the top platform for global economic cooperation, encompassing over two-thirds of the world’s population, over 75% of global trade, and about 85% of the world’s GDP.

India’s objective for the G20, according to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, would be inclusive, ambitious, and action-oriented. In his blog post, Prime Minister Modi stated that India will seek to build a sense of unity among all people and that its goals will be decided in conjunction with both the Global South and G20 partners.

He emphasised that fighting one another is not the way to solve the world’s greatest problems, such as terrorism, pandemics, and climate change. “India’s G20 agenda will be inclusive, ambitious, action-oriented, and decisive,” he wrote.

Citing the theme – ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future’, PM Modi said India’s G20 Presidency will work to promote this universal sense of one-ness. “This is not just a slogan. It takes into account recent changes in human circumstances, which we have collectively failed to appreciate,” he said.

Farjana Sharmin observed two things in her article for the think tank South-South Research Initiative (SSRI): first, India has finally been given the chance to put its global vision and grand strategy into action; and second, the South Asian area will benefit from India’s leadership in the G-20.

In addition, PM Modi sent his best wishes for the holiday.

He said: “Today is the day to remember the teachings of Jesus Christ. The festival of Christmas is being celebrated with great fervour all across the world. I extend my heartful greetings to everyone.”

PM Modi requested comments for this episode of Mann ki Baat on December 13 and encouraged viewers to post them on the NaMo and MyGov apps or leave voicemails at 1800-11-7800.

Sharing MyGov’s invitation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had tweeted, “2022’s last #MannKiBaat will take place on the 25th of this month. I am eager to receive your input for the programme. I urge you to write on the NaMo App, MyGov or record your message on 1800-11-7800.”
