PM Modi inaugurates Tripura’s First Dental College

Guwahati: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 18 originally inaugurated the Agartala Government Dental College, which just received permission from the Indian Dental Council.

”Today Tripura has its Dental College. Now, one can become a doctor in Tripura itself,” said PM Modi while addressing a mass gathering at Vivekananda Maidan.

Along with the Dental College, PM Modi also inaugurated a number of other projects.

The prime minister expressed his gratitude for being in the state while also apologising for his delayed arrival.

He added that Tripura is now serving as the nation’s gateway to international trade for the Northeast and the rest of the nation.

”Our focus is on the all-round development of Tripura. Projects launched today will give a fillip to the state’s growth trajectory,” he added.

Notably, the approval came a day after the Dental Medical Council conducted an inspection on December 12 and 13 and submitted a report to the country’s health ministry on December 14.

The Tripura Central University will oversee the 50-seat Dental College, which will have 15% of its seats designated for the central pool, 7/8 of its seats allocated to the northeastern states, and the remaining seats set up for Tripura students.
