Guwahati: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the Congress Party is stuck in urban naxal thought process and the party should be called the Federation of Congress.
While addressing to the debate on the Motion of Thanks on President’s address in Rajya Sabha on Tuesday stated that India would not have seen the Emergency or the Sikh genocide if Congress had not intervened.
“Without Congress, India would have been free from the Emergency, corruption, Sikh genocide, Kashmiri Pandits’ exodus, daughters would have been safe, people would have got basic amenities,” PM Modi said, amid protests from the opposition.
Further, he said, “This mindset has had an impact on the policies of those who received the opportunity to work for the last 50 years. It gave birth to perversions. Yeh democracy aapki meherbani se nahi hai (This democracy is not due to your generosity). Those who strangulated democracy in 1975 should not speak on it.”
Meanwhile, during PM Modi’s speech in the Rajya Sabha, Congress MPs staged a walkout.
