PM Modi to Inaugurate Bundelkhand Expressway Today

Guwahati: The Bundelkhand Expressway will be inaugurated on Saturday (July 16) during the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Uttar Pradesh.

The 296 km long four-lane Expressway has been built for about Rs 14,850 crore.

The expressway would significantly improve the area’s connectivity and industrial growth.

According to authorities reported by ANI, the Modi government has given connectivity and infrastructure a lot of attention.

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways received the highest budgetary allocation ever in the budget year 2022–23, totaling Rs 1.99 lakh crore. This represents an increase of more than 550% when compared to the approximate Rs. 30,300 crore allocation in 2013–14.

According to the report, the length of the nation’s national highways increased by more than 50% during the previous seven years, from 91,287 km (as of April 2014) to over 1,41,000 km (as of December 31, 2021).

PM Modi lay the first stone for the Bundelkhand Expressway on February 29, 2020. The Expressway’s construction was completed within 28 months.

The 296 km four-lane expressway was built at a cost of about Rs 14,850 crore under the direction of the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA). It can subsequently be upgraded up to six lanes.

The Bundelkhand Expressway will significantly improve economic development in addition to enhancing regional connectivity. In the Banda and Jalaun areas, next to the expressway, construction has already begun on an industrial corridor.
