PM Modi to launch 50 projects in four districts

National desk, 5 July: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will make a significant gesture by launching projects worth over Rs 50,000 crore and laying foundation stones for 50 projects during his two-day visit to Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Rajasthan.
And PM will visit the states on Friday and Saturday. Before the implementation of the code of conduct for the 2024 general elections, the infrastructure ministries presented information to the council of ministers earlier on the timeline for the groundbreaking and inauguration of nearly 900 projects totaling more than Rs 13 lakh crore.

According to reports, the central government plans to launch a flurry of projects over the course of the next eight to nine months, beginning this week, to represent its success in quickening infrastructure growth throughout the nation. Additionally, it has been established that in the states with upcoming assembly elections, the emphasis will be on project completion and inauguration.
While 560 projects costing around Rs 7.6 lakh crore will be inaugurated by February-March 2024, the foundation stones for the remaining 350-odd projects entailing an investment of around 5.6 lakh crore will be laid across states.

These include 60-65 “signature projects” that cost over Rs 5,000 crore each or are of strategic importance. These include Chenab Bridge, Pamban Railway Bridge, Sone Bridge, Dwarka Expressway, Ankleshwar-Baroda stretch of Delhi-Mumbai Expressway and Gorakhpur-Haryana Anu Vidyut Pariyojna. During his two-day visit, PM Modi will inaugurate two such projects – Amritsar-Jamnagar Expressway and a new section of the dedicated freight corridor from Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction to Son Nagar.
Approximately 200 projects are reportedly ready for launch and another 200 or more are predicted to be completed by the end of 2023. In addition, PM Modi is suspected to travel to Raipur where he would dedicate a number of projects and lay the cornerstone for a six-lane portion of the Raipur-Vishakhapatnam NH route before attending a public meeting. Later, after dedicating many projects, including the six-lane portion of the Raipur-Vishakhapatnam NH route, he will visit Gorakhpur where he will lay the cornerstone. He will then address a public meeting.

The PM will also travel to Varanasi where he will dedicate and officially open a number of projects including the reconstruction of Manikarnika Ghat and Harishchandra Ghat and the four-lane Varanasi-Jaunpur portion of NH-56.
On the second day, he will finally arrive at Warangal, Telangana where he will lay the cornerstone for several projects among them the Nagpur-Vijayawada corridor.
