PM Narendra Modi Arrives in Guwahati on two-day Assam visit
Guwahati, 3rd February: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived ahead of schedule at Guwahati’s Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi Airport, where he was warmly received by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Governor Gulab Chand Kataria, and other dignitaries. The early arrival was met with an enthusiastic welcome, with a large number of dancers lining up at the airport premises.
Following his arrival, Prime Minister Modi proceeded directly to the State Guest House at Koinadhora, where he is expected to hold a meeting with BJP leaders of Assam.
The main event is scheduled to take place tomorrow at Khanapara, beginning around 11:30 am, where Prime Minister Modi will lay the foundation stones for projects totaling over Rs 11,000 crore.
Key Projects to be Launched:
- Maa Kamakhya Divyalok Pariyojana: An ambitious project with an estimated cost of Rs 498 crore.
- Widening of Road connecting Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport: Critical infrastructure upgrade with an investment of Rs 358 crore.
- Upgradation of 43 roads under Asom Mala 2.0: Includes the construction of 38 bridges, with a total budget of Rs 3,444 crore.
- Upgradation of Nehru Stadium into a FIFA Standard Football Stadium: Major sports infrastructure project with an investment of Rs 831 crore.
- Chandrapur Stadium: A project worth Rs 300 crore aimed at boosting sports facilities.
- Infrastructure Development of Guwahati Medical College and Hospital: Investment of Rs 3,250 crore to enhance healthcare facilities.
- Karimganj Medical College: Medical infrastructure project with a budget of Rs 578 crore.
- Unity Mall Development: Investment of Rs 297 crore for the development of commercial and recreational spaces.
Projects to be Dedicated:
- Four Laning from Biswanath Chariali to Gohpur: Critical road infrastructure project with a cost of Rs 1,451 crore.
- Four Laning from Dolabari to Jamuguri: Road development initiative with a budget of Rs 592 crore.
The cumulative investment in these projects is an impressive Rs 11,599 crore, highlighting the government’s commitment to infrastructure development in the region.
