PM Narendra Modi Likely to Take Oath on June 8 After NDA’s Majority in Lok Sabha Elections

National Desk, 5th June: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to take his oath of office on June 8, following the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) securing a majority in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, according to reports. The new cabinet of Union Ministers will also be sworn in on the same day.

In a procedural move, the 17th Lok Sabha cabinet recommended its dissolution earlier today. Prime Minister Modi has arrived at Rashtrapati Bhavan to meet President Droupadi Murmu, where he will resign from his current position and subsequently stake his claim to form the new government.

In the elections, Modi retained his Lok Sabha seat in Uttar Pradesh’s Varanasi, defeating Congress candidate Ajay Rai by a margin of less than 1.5 lakh votes, thereby securing his position as a three-time Member of Parliament.
