Guwahati: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was gifted with an Argentine football team jersey that featured the name of World Cup-winning champion Lionel Messi name by the president of YPF from Argentina Pablo Gonzalez during India Energy Week in Bengaluru.
Argentina triumphed last December in a fiercely contested final that was the final World Cup for Argentina’s national hero Lionel Messi.
Argentina won the game 4-2 on penalties after the score remained tied at the end of the second half of extra time.
PM Modi also congratulated Argentina on their success announcing that millions of Indians are celebrating Argentina and Lionel Messi’s triumph in the FIFA 2022 World Cup.
“This will be remembered as one of the most thrilling Football matches! Congrats to Argentina on becoming #FIFAWorldCup Champions! They’ve played brilliantly through the tournament.
