PM Narendra Modi to inaugurate 3 National Ayush Institutes on Dec 11

Guwahati: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate three National Ayush Institutes to the country on December 11.

This was announced by the Union Minister of Ayush Sarbananda Sonowal.

The three Ayush institutes to be inaugurated are All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), Goa, National Institute of Unani Medicine (NIUM), Ghaziabad and National Institute of Homoeopathy (NIH), Delhi.

These satellite institutes would promote inexpensive Ayush services for a greater community and improve international research cooperation.

Speaking to the media, Sarbananda Sonowal provided information about the 9th World Ayurveda Congress (WAC), which will be held in Panjim, Goa and will highlight the strength, effectiveness and science of the Ayush System of Medicines on a global scale.

Minister of State of Ayush Dr. Munjapara Mahendrabhai along with Secretary, Ministry of Ayush, Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha and other officials of Ministry of Ayush were present on this occasion.

PM Modi will also be present at the WAC’s farewell celebration on Sunday in Goa.

Sarbananda Sonowal stated that the formation of these institutes is consistent with the vision of the prime minister, which calls for the expansion of infrastructure, the development of human resources, and the encouragement of research in conventional medical systems.

The All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), Goa, is committed to offering the best UG, PG, and post-doctoral programmes in the areas of education, research, and patient care services using the Ayurvedic medical system. It will be transformed into an Ayurvedic wellness centre that promotes Medical Value Travel (MVT) and serve as a role model for cross-national academic and scientific collaboration.

The National Institute of Homoeopathy (NIH), Delhi, is the first institution of its kind to be founded in Northern India for the purpose of advancing the homoeopathic system of medicine and offering medical services. It will endeavour to mainstream Ayush healthcare services and integrate them with contemporary medical treatments, foster R&D and innovation, and build reputable national institutes.

An extension of the current National Institute of Unani Medicine in Bangalore, the National Institute of Unani Medicine (NIUM), Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, will be a satellite centre. It would be the first such facility in Northern India and serve patients from MVT-eligible foreigners as well as residents of the nearby states of Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Delhi.
