PM Narendra Modi to inaugurate Abu Dhabi’s first Hindu temple BAPS Tomorrow

National Desk, 13th February: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s two-day visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) marks a significant milestone in bilateral relations, highlighted by the inauguration of the first Hindu temple, ‘BAPS Mandir,’ in Abu Dhabi. The trip underscores the close strategic partnership between India and the UAE, with key engagements including meetings with top UAE leadership and addressing the Indian diaspora.

During his visit, PM Modi is expected to focus on enhancing cooperation in trade, investment, defense, and other vital sectors through the signing of agreements. The comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries has flourished over the years, encompassing areas such as education, security, and energy.

Discussions will also center on digital infrastructure investments, capital flow protection, maritime cooperation, and agreements related to fintech products and railways. Meetings with Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and other UAE officials will further solidify bilateral ties.

The inauguration of the BAPS Mandir and participation in the World Government Summit 2024 in Dubai demonstrate India’s commitment to strengthening cultural and economic bonds with the UAE. The visit builds upon previous agreements, including the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) and the Local Currency Settlement System, fostering a robust economic relationship.

With bilateral trade reaching USD 85 billion in 2022-23, PM Modi’s visit underscores the importance of collaboration for mutual progress. It symbolizes the deepening of cultural, economic, and diplomatic ties between India and the UAE, based on shared values and aspirations.
