PM Narendra Modi To Interact With ‘National Awards to Teachers’ Winners Today

Guwahati: On the occasion of Teachers’ Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with the winners of the “National Awards to Teachers 2022” at his residence at 4.30 pm.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the National Awards to Teachers are meant to recognise and honour the distinctive achievements of some of the best educators in the nation.

The National Awards to Teachers recognise deserving elementary and secondary school teachers in front of the general public.

At least 45 teachers from throughout the nation this year have been chosen for the prizes following a rigorous and open three-stage online selection procedure.

Today, in honour of Teachers’ Day, the President, Droupadi Murmu will present the honorary awards to the chosen recipients.
This year’s award-winning teachers hail from a variety of states, including Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Telangana, Punjab, and Maharashtra.
The event will reportedly take place at the Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi and will be broadcast live on the education ministry’s Doordarshan and Swayam Prabha Channels.

It should be noted that on September 5 of each year, the ministry of education holds a ceremony at the Vigyan Bhawan to present awards to the nation’s top educators.

Teachers’ Day is observed nationwide in honour of the late Dr. S. Radhakrishnan, an author and philosopher who served as India’s second president and was born on this day in 1888. His contributions to the realm of education are what people remember him for.
Teachers’ Day celebrations were first held in 1962 to honour the former President and teachers around the nation.
