Guwahati: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the cornerstone for the bridge being built to connect Sualkuchi to Palasbari over the Brahmaputra.
This was informed by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday.
PM Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone for the Sualkuchi-Palasbari Bridge over the Brahmaputra, according to CM Sarma.
An estimated 4,000 crores of rupees would be spent on the large project to construct a bridge across the Brahmaputra River to connect Sualkuchi and Palasbari in Assam.
The proposed project of the Assam government had already received approval from Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
It may be noted that the projected Sualkuchi-Palasbari bridge project will be 4.08 kilometres long.
Once built, the bridge is anticipated to reduce the distance between Guwahati and surrounding communities including Nalbari, Barpeta, and Baksa.
