National Desk, 6th February: Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to his social media account to wish a speedy recovery to Britain’s King Charles III, who has been diagnosed with cancer, as confirmed by Buckingham Palace.
In his message on social media, Modi wrote, “I join the people of India in wishing speedy recovery and good health to His Majesty King Charles III”.
Following the diagnosis, King Charles III will be deferring his public engagements to undergo treatment, according to a statement released by Buckingham Palace on Monday. Despite the diagnosis, the King remains positive and is eager to resume his full-time duties as soon as possible.
The disclosure of King Charles’s cancer diagnosis follows his recent hospitalization for a benign enlarged prostate correction procedure. During his stay, another issue was identified, later confirmed as cancer through subsequent tests. The Palace did not provide further details regarding the type or stage of cancer.
