Guwahati: Police in Guwahati arrested a lady for allegedly peddling cannabis and confiscated vast quantities of the illegal drug on Tuesday.
According to sources, in Lalganesh in Guwahati, Fatasil police conducted an operation based on specific intelligence under the supervision of ACP Nandini Kakati.
Police detained a lady after discovering her in possession of the drugs. According to authorities, she was identified as Jivanti Deka.
The police claimed that they took over 25 kg of cannabis from her during the raid at her home. Police also discovered an automobile and cash totaling over a lakh.
According to them, the Hyundai Xcent with the licence plate AS 01 T 6777 was also brought into police custody.
Officials added that they had discovered cannabis smuggled inside the vehicle. The woman’s lengthy history of cannabis trading has also come to light.
