Police Conduct Raid at Anurag Chaliha’s Residence in Suicide Case

Guwahati, 22nd August: In a significant development, Chandmari Police conducted an operation at the residence of the deceased Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Kisan Morcha Secretary, Indrani Tahbildar, where the prime suspect, Anurag Chaliha, was staying as a tenant. The operation took place in Guwahati’s Bamunimaidam area.

The police, accompanied by Anurag Chaliha, carried out the search for evidence in the suicide case. Sources have indicated that during the raid, crucial evidence related to a cash-for-job scam was uncovered, shedding light on candidates who allegedly paid money in exchange for government job positions.

Anurag Chaliha is the central figure in the suicide case of BJP leader Indrani Tahbildar. The tragic incident unfolded after intimate photos of her with Chaliha were allegedly leaked, prompting her to take her own life.

Following the suicide, Anurag Chaliha went into hiding and was eventually apprehended on August 14 from Sivasagar’s Demow area. He was subsequently remanded in police custody for a period of seven days.

This operation represents a crucial step in the ongoing investigation, shedding light on the alleged cash-for-job scam and potential links to the circumstances leading to Indrani Tahbildar’s tragic death.
