Guwahati: Guwahati police have arrested a fraudster who defrauded a car owner by leasing his four-wheeler vehicle under the guise of giving a monthly income.
The arrestee identified as Ramzan Ali.
According to reports, Ali was arrested in Kerala and brougth to Guwahati on a transit remand.
Ali allegedly met the complainant in Guwahati eight months ago and promised him monthly income by leasing his Hyundai Accent car, police officials said.
However, he staged his own abduction in Nagaland and never contacted the complainant until an FIR was filed at the city’s Hatigaon police station.
Later, Ali was brought before the court.
