Guwahati: Assam Police arrested a police officer for allegedly sending vulgar messages to a minor girl from Karimganj district on November 29.
The tainted officer identified as SI Dhirendra Nath was nabbed after the victim and the victim’s family lodged a complaint against him.
A case was registered u/s 688/22 of the IPC against the tainted sub-inspector of Ramkrishnanagar police station in Karimganj district who was then produced before the court.
Following the court’s order, the corrupted SI Dhirendra Nath was sent to jail based on the case that had been filed.
According to the victim and the victim’s family, SI Dhirendra Nath was long-distance sending the minor girl explicit texts over the phone.
The minor girl reported the matter to her family members who then reported the matter to the superintendent of police.
The police superintendent filed a report and requested an investigation in this regard. The investigating team also sent the case and the investigation report to the court, who eventually issued a jail sentence for the SI.
