Police personnel involved in AASU GS shooting case sent to Police Reserve
Guwahati: Police personnel involved in the shooting incident at Kachalukhua, Nagaon has been sent to Police Reserve with immediate effect.
The police personnel who shot at the former AASU General Secretary identified as Pradip Bania.
The officials further informed that they have requested the government to institute a commissioner-level inquiry into the incident.
Sharing the news on Twitter Assam Police wrote, “Police personnel involved in the shooting incident at Kachalukhua, Nagaon have been sent to Police Reserve with immediate effect. We have requested the Govt to institute a commissioner-level inquiry into the incident. If any lapse is found, guilty personnel will be taken to task.”

It may be mentioned that the anti-narcotics squad of Nagaon police reportedly shot former general secretary of the Nagaon college student union and AASU leader, Kirti Kamal Bora on Saturday evening.
Earlier today he was the AASU General Secretary was tested positive for Covid-19.
