Police Recover Six Quintals of Bombs from Assam-Arunachal Border
Northeast Desk, 23rd August: Authorities have unearthed six quintals of active bombs near the Assam-Arunachal border in Dullung. The explosives, remnants of Air Force testing exercises from 25 years ago, were originally dropped for experimental purposes.
The recovered bombs include a 500 kg device and a 100 kg device, among others. These items were part of a series of experimental drops conducted in the area during the testing period. The discovery underscores the long-lasting impact of such military exercises on local regions.
Police are currently assessing the situation to ensure that the remaining ordnance is safely handled and removed from the area.
