Political Dynamics in Mizoram Shift as MNF MLA K Beichhua Resigns Ahead of Upcoming Assembly Polls

Northeast Desk, 6th October: In Mizoram, as the Assembly polls draw closer later this year, the political landscape is becoming increasingly intriguing with the recent resignation of MNF MLA K Beichhua. With the approaching Assembly election, political parties are actively strategizing to select their most promising candidates.

Today, on October 6, 2023, Dr. K. Beichhua, who had previously been elected as an MLA from Siaha Bial on the MNF ticket in 2018, officially submitted his resignation to the Assembly Speaker. This decision came after a period of serving as a minister of state, during which Dr. K. Beichhua chose to step down from the MNF.

The MLA had been relieved of his ministerial responsibilities by the chief minister a few months ago, citing internal party dynamics as the reason. Notably, Dr. K. Beichhua, who had previously won two elections as an MLA from the Siaha constituency on the MNF ticket, will now be contesting the upcoming MLA election from the same constituency, but this time as a candidate representing the BJP.
