Power Ministry to Celebrate National Energy Conservation Day

Guwahati: The National Energy Conservation Day is celebrated on 14th December 2022 in every year. The objective is to highlight the nation’s accomplishments in energy conservation and efficiency.

The event’s chief guest will be President Droupadi Murmu. Shri R. K. Singh, Union Minister of Power, New & Renewable Energy will address the occasion.

Shri Alok Kumar, Secretary of the Ministry of Power and Shri Krishan Pal, Minister of State for Power & Heavy Industries will also be present at the event. The National Energy Conservation Awards, National Energy Efficiency Innovation Awards, National Painting Competition Prizes and the EV Yatra Portal will be launched by the President at the event.

The main attractions of the event will be:

  • National Energy Conservation Awards (NECA) 2022
  • National Energy Efficiency Innovation Awards (NEEIA) 2022
  • National painting competition for school children 2022
  • Launch of ‘EV-Yatra portal’ and mobile app
  • Session on emerging new technologies in the area of energy efficiency

National Energy Conservation Award 2022

On National Energy Conservation Day, which is observed on December 14 each year, the BEE under the direction of the Ministry of Power, honours and encourages efforts made by industrial units, institutions and establishments to reduce their energy consumption by presenting them with Energy Conservation Awards.

This year, NECA 2022 applications were accepted online until October 27, 2022 and a total of 448 applications were received.
