Pradyot Debbarma: Tripartite Treaty Marks Right Direction for People

Northeast Desk, 2nd March: Pradyot Debbarma, chairman of Tipra Motha and Tripura royal scion, expressed optimism about the Tripartite Treaty, stating that it signifies a positive step forward for the people. Speaking on Facebook Live after the signing of the historic accord, Debbarma emphasized the need for hard work and discipline to ensure its effective implementation.

Debbarma acknowledged the tendency to celebrate previous accords without achieving meaningful progress, emphasizing the importance of disciplined effort to fulfill the objectives of the new treaty. He outlined plans to form a committee to engage with stakeholders and address various rights issues within a timeframe of six to eight months.

Highlighting the accord’s provisions, Debbarma underscored the formation of a joint working group to implement agreed points in a time-bound manner, urging all stakeholders to refrain from agitation or protest to maintain a conducive atmosphere for implementation.

Debbarma also addressed potential opposition to the accord, suggesting that certain individuals benefiting from the Tiprasa community’s issues may express discontent. However, he emphasized that the accord’s success is a victory for the entire community, signaling a significant milestone for Tripura’s future.

The signing of the TIPRASA Accord has received praise from Home Minister Amit Shah, who highlighted its role in rectifying past mistakes and fostering progress. Shah credited the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in promoting peace and development in the Northeast, underscoring the importance of such agreements in the region’s overall development.
