Guwahati: Situation turns tense in Assam’s Lakhimpur district after a pregnant woman died due to alleged medical negligence on the part of the hospital authorities.
The incident took place at the Bihpuria Community Health Centre on Friday.
The deceased’s family said that the regrettable situation was caused by improper care not being provided in a timely manner.
The deceased has been identified as Swapna Doley.
Following the incident, the deceased’s family members protested in front of the hospital by setting tyres on fire and yelling anti-government chants.
The protestors requested that the on-duty doctors and nurses be punished and that the deceased be given justice.
However, the situation was brought under control once the police were invented.
