Preparations Finalized for Sidli (ST) Constituency By-Election on November 13
All preparations are in place for the by-election in the 31 No. Sidli (ST) Constituency, which is set to take place on November 13. Polling stations, election materials, and security measures have been thoroughly arranged to ensure a smooth, transparent, and peaceful voting process.
The transportation of essential election materials, including Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) devices and Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), to their respective polling locations has been completed ahead of schedule.
Jatin Borah, the Returning Officer and District Commissioner of Chirang, confirmed that the necessary arrangements for the election are now finalized. A total of 273 polling stations have been set up across the constituency, with 33 stations identified as critical due to their sensitivity.
The electorate of Sidli (ST) constituency stands at 2,17,183, including 1,07,894 male voters, 1,09,283 female voters, and 4 third-gender voters. A team of 1,224 polling officers has been appointed to oversee the election at these stations, ensuring the process runs efficiently.
Stringent security measures have been implemented to provide a safe environment for voters. With the cooperation of local law enforcement and election monitoring bodies, officials are hopeful that the by-election will proceed without any disruptions.
