National Desk, 3rd Jan: President Droupadi Murmu extended her deepest condolences to the victims of the tragic Dergaon accident in Assam, expressing sadness over the sudden loss of lives.
Taking to platform X, President Murmu wrote, “The news of the sudden death of many people in a road accident in Golaghat, Assam is extremely sad. I express my deepest condolences to the bereaved families and pray for the speedy recovery of those injured.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also shared his condolences on Twitter, expressing sorrow over the incident. He announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh to the next of kin of each deceased and financial aid of Rs 50,000 to the injured from the central government. The gestures from the President and the Prime Minister reflect a unified expression of grief and support for the affected families.
