President Droupadi Murmu to Arrive on a Two-Day Visit to Assam

Guwahati: President Droupadi Murmu to arrive in Assam today, April 6 to attend Gaj Utsav at Kaziranga National Park.

In addition to the Gaj Utsav, the president will be here for a two-day official visit and attend a number of other important events.

According to reports, President Murmu will be flying in a special IAF aircraft to Jorhat where she will spend the night at the Kohora forest range in Kaziranga National Park.

It will be her second visit to the state after assuming the nation’s highest constitutional position in July 2022.

Taking to the Twitter handle, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, “Assam is looking forward to hosting Adarniya Rashtrapati Smt Draupadi Murmu Ji who will be on a two-day visit beginning April 6. Chaired a meeting to review preparations.”

The Festival is a yearly celebration held at the national park in support of Asian elephant conservation and preservation.

In order to draw attention to and find a solution to the state’s escalating man-elephant conflict, the forest and tourism department have organised it.
